WELCOME TO SHOEBOX COTTAGE:
Shoebox Cottage was built in the 1800's and it is believed to have been built as staff accommodation for the Stakesby
Manor Estate and has much character. Shoebox can accommodate upto 5 adults to stay. The Cottage is set on
a private road at the edge of Whitby and is in easy reach of Sandsend and Whitby's West Cliff. It has a small
front garden with it's own parking for one car. The cottage has garden furnature and a BBQ. There is a bus service
within a few yards of the cottage or if you prefer to walk you can follow the "monks trod" path which takes you to the
centre of the town in around 10 -15 minutes.
The downstairs layout is open plan and the Kitchen is equiped with oven & hob. Washer/Dryer. Fridge/Freezer.
Microwave and a few other surprises. The lounge has an original fire place with living flame gas fire, a TV with
DVD and Sky. There are three bedrooms consisting of a Double Room with wrought Iron double bed and pine furnature.
The Twin Room has wrought iron single beds with pine furnature and the Single Room has wrought iron bed and has its own
sink. The bathroom has bath with hand held victoriana style shower over.
The Cottage is smoker friendly with smoking allowed downstairs only and one wellbehaved pet is welcome to visit.
This is to be confirmed at the time of booking.
All towels and linen are provided as well as gas and electric. There is a cot and high chair available on request.
However, should you require the cot you are advised to bring your own cot bedding with you.
You are presented with a welcome pack on your arrival which consists of fresh flowers, tea, coffee, sugar and milk, a
bottle of wine, local newspaper (The Whitby Gazette) and 1/2 doz. of our own free range eggs.
Please be aware that we require numbers of guests staying to be given at the time of booking and should guests have extra
people arrive during their stay who are not booked then there will be an extra charge payable in addition to the original
booking fee.
